DEFINITION OF VARIOUS TERMS USED IN ANATOMY:-
Anatomy- It is the science of body structures and relationship between groups or organization of body parts.
SUBDISCIPLINES OF BODY PARTS:-
- Embryology: The study of science of the origin of development of an individual from fertilization of an oocyte to the end of 8th week of development.
- Development Biology: The study of complete development of an individual from fertilization of an egg to death.
- Cell Biology: The Study of cellular structure or function.
- Histology: Study of microscopic structure of tissues.
- Surface Anatomy: The study of Surface markings of the body to understand the internal anatomy through visualization and palpation.
- Gross Anatomy: The study of Structures that can be examined without using a microscope.
- Radiographic Anatomy: The study of body structures that can be visualized with X-rays.
- Systemic Anatomy: The Study of structures of specific systems of the body such as the nervous system or respiratory systems.
- Regional Anatomy: The study of specific regions of the body. E.g.-chest.
- Pathological Anatomy: The study of structural changes associated with disease.
- Physiology- It is the science of body functions and how and how the body part works.

- Respiratory physiology: The study of function of air passage and lungs.
